A Phosphorous Spot

Jascha Narveson Soft glitchy ambient electronic music. Sonmi451 has his own sound, but this music is adjacent to early Oval, Jan Jelinek, and a little bit Susumu Yokota (especially "Up Goes the Green Flare" with its warm breeze of a flute sample that wafts in and out).

Lovely. I especially listen to this in the morning. Favorite track: Up Goes The Green Flare.

AllenMueller I've spent years listening to this album. It's still a wonder to steep in the environs within each track, each place. One is surrounded in expansive and permeating dark matter, while the realm of vocal frequencies glistens with impossibly soft, quiet intricacies.

September 2018 update: I've recently happened across an article discussing the merits of ASMR and now I believe this must be a factor in the creation of A Phosphorus Spot. If not, then it's an incredibly happy accident. Favorite track: Phosphorous.

about

I recently had to compile the whole Sonmi451 back catalogue for a friend and took the chance to listen to some of my older work. I found that many tracks still sounded surprisingly fresh, even for my ears, having not heard the tracks in years. So I thought it would be a good idea to re-issue the albums via Bandcamp since they are since long sold out via the original labels.

A Phosphorous Spot was initially released by U-Cover Records in 2006. There are only 7 CD-items left (except the copy I keep for myself ;-) and I decided to put them up for sale. Digital sales remain here on Bandcamp, after the albums are sold out.
